San Francisco By Way of South Dakota

The Spring Break gods smiled down on me.

Due to extreme weather the attractions near Mount Rushmore typically don’t open until April 1st.

So instead of freezing my butt off in South Dakota we ended up in rainy San Francisco.

True the forecast called for a cold and gray and rainy 5 days.

But that beats freezing snow right??

We actually lucked out and enjoyed 4 days of sun with our evening skies cleared by downpours.

And only had to endure 1 day of sightseeing in the rain.

The highlight of the trip for me was our tours of Sausalito and Muir Woods.

The woods were absolutely awe inspiring.

The majesty of the trees coupled with the fresh air, kissed by a light rain, took my breath away.

I’m not a big outdoorsy kind of girl.

I hate bugs and stuff.

But walking the paths was exhilarating.

And the look of wonder on my son’s face was priceless.

I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Except maybe some bug repellent.

P.S.  Let me know if y’all are interested and I will post the slide show of some more of the pictures that I took 🙂
