21st Century Proverbs Woman

A proverb is defined as a brief popular epigram or maxim;

A general truth, fundamental principle, or rule of conduct.

They can be found in verbal sayings passed down from generation to generation.

Or written in various texts and documents.

The Bible has an entire book dedicated to proverbs.

A popular chapter of this book is 31.

It discusses qualities that a good woman possesses and how she is a jewel in her husband’s crown.

Qualities that can and should be aspired to…whether married or not.

Proverbs 31:11 The heart of her husband does safely trust in her.

Trust is required in order for a relationship to be successful.

It is an absolute must.

And it’s one thing for someone to trust you in theory i.e. with their head.

It is something else entirely for them to trust you so surely that their heart rests with you.

That is the kind of safe harbor that we can aspire to be for our mate.

Proverbs 31:16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

In recent times it has become common for women’s intelligence to be downplayed.

Especially when it comes to finding and keeping a mate.

There are articles and surveys and whatnot that all suggest that men could care less about how smart you are.

However having the ability to make smart, lucrative business decisions is nothing to be ashamed of.

It is an asset to be able to discuss intelligently with your mate your financial situation.

Not only does it give him a sounding board but it also helps to alleviate some of the pressure from his shoulders.

Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Everyone has an opinion and it matters…if only to them.

There is a time and a place for everything.

This includes words.

And the woman who knows when to hold her tongue is a true genius.

There are times when no matter what you say, it will not be heard.

Sometimes timing is just as important as what is being communicated.

All of these key qualities add to a woman’s worth.

A Proverbs 31 Woman is a jewel to her husband.

A 21st Century Proverbs Woman is a jewel to everyone who is blessed to be in her presence.

  1. I think those proverbs could either way, don’t you? And I hate Bible English…so easily misconstruable, you know? You interpret it the way you did and another person reading the same text will construe it to mean something entirely different and antithetical to yours. And you’ll say (just as that person would say) WTF??!! And you’ll both be right and in need of proverbs not so easily misunderstood.
    You know?
    But I like your interpretation

    • As I was reading I was thinking that…WTF??? Lol just kidding…I completely agree with you. Everyone interprets and qualifies by thier own experience. That’s what’s so great about having my own blog…I get to put mine up. And I’m glad you liked it.
